ur•ban (ûrꞋbən) adj. 1. Of or constituting a city. 2. Typical of the city or city life.

bo•dhi (Ꞌbōdē) n. Buddism. 1. Supreme knowledge or elightenment.  2. Cultivating the seed of awakening within each person.  3. Discovering one’s true nature and motivation to improve society.

The built environment is the only thing we control and so it’s important to understand all issues that interact within the city.  The charm of urban planning is it gives us a platform to explore multiple disciplines with a macro view and attention to connections.  Planning the urban environment transcends traditional scientific study.  Enlightenment may seem to be an absurd correlation with urban planning, but ultimately it might be the best way to describe proficiency in such a multifaceted discipline.
